“Inspired by a photo of myself from my first pregnancy, I wanted to show a confident pregnant woman, at home, calmly looking at herself, being for herself, before her child is born and everything changes. The date in the title is itself a sign of other things about to change.”
Amelie Mancini is a French-American figurative painter based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work have been featured in Works On Paper 4 and 5 at Blue Shop Gallery in London, and shown at Hashimoto Contemporary (New York, NY), Maake Projects (State College, PA), mepaintsme’s Open Call 2023 and 81C in St. Thomas, VI, among others. She has received the Royal Watercolor Society Award in 2022 and her works have been is part of the permanent art collection of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, as well as in private collections.
